Introductions

My name is Rien Wetmore. I am a student at Edinboro University, studying Secondary Ed. Mathematics. I am an honors student, volunteer at my local church and carry a part time job at the local Giant Eagle on top of being a student. I bowl every Thursday night and always make time for my family and people who are important in my life. Like everyone, I have made mistakes in life and have learned from them and know that I will make a million more by the time I graduate college. (Not including my life after I graduate).

I have always wanted to be a math teacher and I am very dedicated to my future. My inspiration came from my high school geometry teacher, Mr. Simcheck. His motto is simple, but it expresses his level of caring and dedication to his kids. "They will become what you believe they are." To me, it serves as a guideline to what I want to achieve as a future educator, while reminding me that I as a teacher affect my students on such a deep level that it changes their lives. Basically, I want to be the role model in students' lives and to help them realize how much every one of them can get out of life.

This blog is the first I have ever written and I'm generally not an online fb-twitter share everything type of person. This blog will help me to come out of my comfort zone and share my thoughts and beliefs while learning from other blogs and comments.
